Bermuda Shutters

Bermuda shutters or Bahama shutters are as unique as they are attractive. They operate differently from other types of shutters in that they do not open in the middle, but rather from the bottom. The top of the shutter is on a hinge and when you want to open your shutters you simply extend the bottom out and the arms support it to keep it open. They are a great source of shade as well as a very good storm shutter.

These shutters are very easy to operate and you can open and close them as needed. In high wind situations or severe storms, you can close them and they protect your windows from damage. Extend the arm or roll it out and you have a beautiful shade that gives your home a luxurious yet tropical feel.

Exterior Rolling Shutters

Similar to roller window blinds, rolling shutters roll in and out of the storage compartment that is installed on the exterior of the home, above the window. They can be hand cranked or mechanized so they can open and close with the push of a button.

Rolling exterior shutters are very sturdy and offer good protection against high winds and storms. They can be customized to match your home’s décor and offer solar shading while providing your home with some insulation from outside noise and outdoor temps.

Colonial Shutters

Colonial shutters are extremely customizable and very versatile so they fit easily with any home aesthetic. You have many different materials, colors, and styles to choose from so in addition to being a durable storm shutter they also offer great curb appeal.

The shutters have two panels that are louvered and are installed on either side of the window, attached directly to the siding. They fold toward each other and latch, covering the window and offering great storm protection.

Accordion shutters fold much as an accordion does. When open, the fold is very slim, but when they are unfolded they cover the entire window. They can then be locked in place offering protection from wind and storm damage.

These shutters run on a track that is installed above and below the window. They glide on that track to open
and close. While they are not good protection against severe storms and high winds, they do offer UV protection
and work well in moderate storms.
